Introducing Todd

JPR:

Prospective homebuyers have many options these days: acreages, large scale communities, and many old or new neighbourhoods in Calgary. Why did you choose to build in Cochrane’s Jumping Pound Ridge?

Todd:

I've lived in Cochrane for 12 years now. I actually used to work for the Town of Cochrane, but then we decided to branch into our own landscaping company. When it was time to build a new home the opportunity to be in Cochrane, on a big pie lot, with my five kids, on the ridge, with a nature reserve behind us, was perfect. It's amazing. We see deer every morning. It's like clockwork; at 7:30 a deer and her little fawns walk behind the house. The kids love it.
It's nice to have the small town community. The schools are nice and close, and yet we are close to the city and have access to all the amenities there but don't have to deal with the traffic and other things that would come with a big city like Calgary.
Everything is going well for us. We are extremely happy and couldn't have picked a better spot to build. It's pretty exciting.

JPR:

Jumping Pound Ridge is a diverse community in which you will meet a variety of people who each bring a different flavour to your life. It is a community that attracts professionals, entrepreneurs, tradespeople and emergency workers to make homes alongside young families with stay at home parents, school kids, and retirees. We think this makes a well-rounded community. What has been your experience living in Jumping Pound Ridge?

Todd:

The theme of Jumping Pound Ridge was "get to know your neighbours" - we've experienced that already. The neighbours are great. We had a party where 26 of the neighbours came. They all brought a dish for the meal. It was great.
We are already experiencing the closeness of this small community.

JPR:

Building a new home is a major event in a person's life. What was your experience with your builder at Jumping Pound Ridge?

Todd:

Kingsmith is the builder we chose to design and construct our place. They did a fabulous job. If we were ever to build another house again they would be the first on the block. They treated us like stars, and as you can see everything turned out really well. Kingsmith is great.

JPR:

From the point of view of a professional landscaper, what attracted you to Jumping Pound Ridge?

Todd:

An advantage of moving into a brand new development like this is that we were able to put in a water system that collects all the rain from our downspouts into an underground vault. That allows us to use our rain water for all of our watering needs.

JPR:

Thank you, Todd, for sharing your experiences with us. We hope you enjoy many years in your beautiful new home in the community of Jumping Pound Ridge.
